This guide is very informative if you are having trouble with the proper sentence structure. As the English language has become more relaxed over the recent decades, proper sentence structure has taken a backseat and fewer people know how to construct a proper sentence. For me this guide was a nice overview, and for a new learner this will be a great tool to help with their writing.
This is a great resource for a great price. I've just ventured out into the world of freelance writing and I'm also taking non-degree seeking classes for a certification. This has helped me hone in on my writing skills overall and helped me be able to "write on whim." I also work with college students that have to write essays for exams that are timed. I plan to share this resource with them because the tips for essay writing are awesome!
Very nicely done book to help anyone who struggles with writing essays. The step by step instructions show you the type of information you need to include and how to put your essay together so that everything flows and makes sense. I am taking some intensive writing classes and I got this book to give me a little more information and confidence in my writing ability.
This book could be handy for all students and teachers alike. Five stars from me!
This continuation of Like Preps essay writing is another great guide to writing essays. It includes details of how to write a timed essay, how the essay structure should look and what goes into each paragraph. Then it gives an additional 30 example essay questions and suggested answers. I find it very helpful to have the examples as models when I practice writing essays. Definitely has improved my writing skills and made me more comfortable when faced with a blank page that needs filling!
I was really impressed by this book. We bought it for our niece who is about to enter her final year at school. I think this book explains really well how to go about writing an essay. How to structure it, how to explain the subject so that it is easy to understand and how to plan your essay. It then gives some great examples of essays that any student can use as a template until they get used to how to write a high quality essay. Very good study aid to anyone who struggles in this area.
This is a great book for anyone who is continuing and trying to better their writing skills. Even if you are already good with writing, if you want to become better at writing this book is good for those people too. I'm not in school anymore, so I have really no use in reading this book, but I was a little curious as to what was in it. Sometimes I wish they had this type of book available to me when I was in school because I struggled a little bit with English literature and writing. But this book I can pass on to my son when he starts school. I think it would really help him to get a head start in life.
The value of writing a good essay should never be underestimated. Some people have excellent arguments to make, but if they cannot present those arguments in a clear, convincing manner they will never be taken seriously. 60 Model Essays is a skillfully written book which leads the reader through the process of writing a structurally sound essay. The basic rules and constructs of an essay are clearly discussed in the beginning, while the 60 essay examples that follow provide real-life models of those rules and constructs at work. Anyone, regardless of how poor their writing is going into this book, will come away from reading this book capable of writing an essay of academic quality. This is an excellent tool to increase anyone's proficiency regarding English tests or any form of test that requires a written argument. A well written book on a very respectable topic.
